MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR MILITARY MEMBERS
The Mental Health Challenges of Active-Duty Life
Military service often requires strength, discipline, and the ability to keep moving forward under pressure. But deployment, separation from family, frequent relocations, demanding schedules, and the responsibility to remain mission-ready can take a lasting toll on mental health.
Depression does not always look like sadness. It may appear as irritability, emotional numbness, difficulty concentrating, disrupted sleep, low motivation, or withdrawal from the people and activities that once mattered. When these changes begin affecting your work, relationships, or everyday life, seeking support is a practical step toward feeling like yourself again.
The Toll of Service on Mental Health
Active-duty service members may carry stress that is difficult to leave behind when the workday or deployment ends. Long periods of heightened alertness, demanding responsibilities, frequent changes in routine, and time away from loved ones can gradually affect mood, sleep, energy, and relationships.
Some service members experience depression alongside anxiety or trauma-related symptoms, while others simply recognize that something no longer feels right. You do not have to wait until symptoms become overwhelming or begin interfering with your responsibilities. Getting support earlier can help you protect your well-being, relationships, and daily quality of life.
Support Before It Becomes Overwhelming
It can be difficult to ask for help when you are accustomed to being the person others depend on. However, seeking treatment is not a sign that you are unable to handle pressure. It is a responsible decision to address symptoms before they begin taking more from your career, family, and daily life.
At Mindful Care, we provide private, compassionate care designed around your individual needs. Our team will listen to what you have been experiencing, review the treatments you have already tried, and help you understand whether NeuroStar TMS may be an appropriate next step.
TMS FOR ACTIVE-DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS
Why Service Members Choose TMS
For some active-duty service members, depression symptoms continue despite trying antidepressant medication or psychotherapy. Others may experience medication side effects that make it harder to feel alert, focused, and fully present throughout the day. When previous treatment has not provided satisfactory improvement, NeuroStar TMS may offer another path forward.
NeuroStar TMS is a non-drug, non-invasive outpatient treatment for Major Depressive Disorder. It uses focused magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. You remain awake during treatment, no anesthesia is required, and you can typically resume normal daily activities after each appointment.
- FDA-cleared, non-drug treatment for Major Depressive Disorder
- No anesthesia or recovery period
- Treatment sessions can take as little as 19 minutes
- Appointments can fit around work and personal responsibilities

What Our Clients Say About Us
Frequently Asked Questions
Is treatment confidential?
Yes. Care at Mediterra Mindful Care takes place at our private civilian clinic, separate from any base treatment facility.
Does TMS affect fitness for duty?
NeuroStar TMS has no systemic side effects and doesn’t impair alertness, memory, or physical readiness the way some medications can. Questions about duty status and specific command policies should go through your unit’s medical channels.
How is this different from care on base?
We’re an independent, TRICARE-accepted civilian provider. Some service members prefer treatment outside the base system for scheduling flexibility or privacy.
What if I get orders mid-treatment?
Let our team know as early as possible so we can plan your session schedule around your timeline, or help you transition care if you’re reassigned.
